My Testing Experiences

When I first held the toy, I got Lush 2 feelings – in that the neck is bendy rather than fixed. The insertable part is obviously not “solid” because it needs space for the thrusting mechanism. And when the toy stopped at the “wide open” thrusting position (to give the toy its 1cm breath) I felt a “gap” when I gave the silicone a squeeze.

Still, it felt rather solid and the quality build I would expect from Lovense. We also still have the body-safe silicone and waterproof casing – so it’s safe and has extra possibilities for “fun”.

First, Lush has had three iterations to work out all its issues. Second, if we want a bulb that’s comfortable for most people to insert, there will inevitably be some aspect of the design that will have to rescind some design real estate. Meaning to have both parts in such a small space, Vulse is like a Jack of Two trades rather than a Master of One.

With some help from my handy friend, Mr. Lube, insertion was comfortable. However, I’m always worried about anything that could “pinch” my body – but Vulse isn’t like a thrusting dildo (where I can edge it in slowly) so I just had to go for it.

This is where we get into a grey area. Because vibrations, patterns, and intensity are all subjective. So all I can do is give my feelings based on my preferences (Aka, a power queen who prefers clit stimulation).

The feeling was surprising – not quite like Lovense Gravity, more of a cousin in the sensation department. I couldn’t reach orgasm with it – but that’s not the fault of the toy (I need serious clit action to get my engine going). There were pleasant residual vibrations that came up the toy’s neck though. I was worried that it would be too loud. But as you can see from the sound tests earlier in the review, the low/med/high levels were actually not as loud as my ears were interpreting. Vulse is louder than Lush 3 but still viable for discreet public play in the right places. I also found the sound significantly muffled once inside – and no, I’m not holding my phone up to my vajayjay for additional sound tests.

It’s a sex toy that is good for crowded bars, parties, clubs, busy areas, or places where no one can hear (if you’re paranoid like me). In those areas, you’ll have a blast. The long-distance connection was exactly what I expected – great! I’ve never had major issues in this area (just a couple of drops because of my WiFi connection. Bluetooth was also what I thought it would be, having a limited range – like any other device. That distance will also reduce if you cross your legs, have barriers between you and the toy, or leave the recommended radius. But if you don’t like the BT option, the app connect is always there for you.

Also, for anyone wondering if you can play with Vulse WITHOUT the app, the answer is yes, you can just use the button to get your jollies. The app just means that you have access to extra fun.

Recharging versus battery life is a 1:1 situation (which is the minimum I look for when it comes to keeping my sex toys alive). I think the reduced battery life (compared to similar toys like Lush 3) is because the thrusting mechanism takes up more juice. Again, not a con in my book, 1 hour of playtime is nice. However, if you love extended play (like using a toy to sync with porn or adult gaming), you might want another toy on standby.

Vulse shined for me when I played around with the Remote App features. Like other testing, the erotic audiobooks, erotic game sync, and music sync were fantastic. Finding songs with more pronounced bass makes the reactions more “in line” with the song. Using it this way was also an experience where an orgasm wasn’t at the top of my list (in a good way). I also like Vulse best for the in-app games, because the mix of thrusting and vibrations was more entertaining than just the normal vibes you would get with other wearable toys. I also did a quick shower test and a “walking around” test.
