Prostate Massager Guide: Which Will Give You the Big O?

Prostate massagers are sex toys that let you go where few men have gone before…

The “Super O”!

A Super O is different from a typical climax – It’s a heightened orgasm, sometimes without ejaculation. They can last for minutes at a time, and, even though they are difficult to achieve, they’re totally worth trying for.

First, we will look at a few notes on safety, proper use, and other tips. Then, we will look at some of the models floating around the market.

1. BUYING A SAFE PROSTATE TOY

Make sure you buy from reputable brands – and nothing that’s “novelty use.”

Cheap toys can be made from dangerous materials that can irritate the delicate tissue that is the anal cavity. Rashes and swelling there will NOT be nice.

Medical-grade silicone, medical-grade stainless steel, and ABS plastic are the better choices. Wood is only an option if it has a proper, body-safe coating that makes it non-porous. Glass is one more safe option but only if it’s crafted correctly (with as few stress points as possible) and from the right kind of glass, like soda-lime or borosilicate; as other forms of glass can contain lead, etc.

2. CARING FOR YOUR PROSTATE TOY

  •   Make sure to wash it before and after each use (warm water and mild soap is fine)
  • Store it in a silk or other fabric back (so it doesn’t sit against other silicone toys)
  • Sterilize it occasionally (a deeper cleaning)
  • Do not share with anyone other than a trusted partner
  • If there are batteries, take them out after each use
  • If it’s a rechargeable battery, make sure to charge it at least once every 3 months (when not in regular use).

3. USING YOUR PROSTATE TOY

If you have never used a prostate toy before, understand there is a bit of a learning curve.

It’s also not something that will happen quickly.

  • Lay on your side with your knees tucked up against your chest. Other positions are possible, but this tends to be the easiest.
  • Make sure you have LOTS of lube on your toy – not only to make insertion easier but to help the toy do its work once inside. Seriously, use A LOT.
  • Slowly insert the toy, making sure to breathe (holding your breath makes things clench).
  • Once in, if you’re not used to the feeling of a toy, spend 10-20 minutes just relaxing and breathing.
  • When you’re ready, breath in and out – clenching your sphincter muscles on the inhale and relaxing on the exhale.
  • Keep doing this until the sensations build and you achieve climax.

NOTE: Vibrations can help some people, while they could bother others.

Sometimes you might not be able to reach this pleasure threshold because you’re not relaxed enough, you haven’t stimulated enough, the stimulation doesn’t work with your body, or the toy isn’t the right fit. If so, the best thing to do is experiment with positions and how you clench or move your body.

The key is PATIENCE.

Now, you have the basic must-knows. Next, finding something that works with your body – and that’s easier said than done.

PROSTATE MASSAGER REVIEWS

NEXUS SPARTA

The Nexus Sparta is unique because of the moving ball which is designed to “milk” the prostate. It’s a fairly new technology (the only toy with similar technology is a g-spot stimulator by Nalone).

Inserting it might be a different experience compared to other prostate massagers because the milking ball protrudes slightly. It might feel a bit strange while going in – not bad, just different.

The base of the neck isn’t as tapered as is should be, and things could slip out; making the “handsfree” aspect unobtainable (especially if you like to use them during intercourse). And, if things don’t stay in place, you can’t focus on the p-spot.

The ring on the base is a very nice extra – making it easier to maneuver. I would give it a 10/10 for creativity but a 6/10 for design execution.

EDGE 2 BY LOVENSE

Edge [2] is the world’s first “patent-pending, adjustable” prostate massager. This is important because the problem with most p-toys is that they will only fit a small percentage of men, and finding the right one requires a lot of shopping around and testing.

You can adjust EDGE so it leans more toward or away from your p-spot, therefore changing how far it can go in as well as the pressure it will apply. The internal structure is also flexible enough to let you move it how you want, but stiff enough to let the toy stay in place once you find the sweet spot.

Just don’t hook it from your door frame and do chin-ups – it’s strong, but not meant for abuse (more finding the position you like and keeping it there).

Take that and add TWO very strong motors – which can be programmed to whatever strength level or pattern sequence you want (through their free, custom app). You can also have the motors vibrating in sync or separately.

Yes, it has a high price tag, but you’re getting way more compared to other brands.

HUGO BY LELO

If you’re not familiar with Lelo, they market themselves as a luxury sex toy brand (with the steep price tag to reflect it). So, the first thing you need to decide is if you have an extra $200 to spare.

Hugo is advertised as a hands-free toy with a strong motor (promising deep, rumbly vibrations) and silky, body-safe silicone – and it delivers on two of those promises.

The material is great, as is the motor (which is important to note because most vibrating massagers aren’t that strong – at least compared to what is offered in the way of motors on the female sex toy market).

However, the hands-free part doesn’t quite deliver. It has a better design than most massagers out there, but there could still be a risk of slippage. And, if it doesn’t stay in place, the remote control might not be useful (if you even like using remotes).

In my opinion, it’s one of the better choices out there. Shame that many won’t be able to afford it.

ANEROS HELIX

This company is like the Fleshlight of prostate stimulation. They only make prostate massagers. There are also a few things to keep in mind before trying this brand (or any similar design).

First, these don’t vibrate and are meant for more active stimulation rather than letting a motor do the work for you. There’s the how-to section at the top of this article, but it would also be worth going on the Aneros forums and reading about how people have successfully used it.

This learning curve might be a turn-off for some who prefer a quick jolly-off. The other thing that might bug you is the design of the base – it’s not bad, more of a “to your taste or not” situation.

A huge positive is a very thin neck, which will make it a lot more comfortable to wear.

THE DON BY DOXY

The Doxy DON, used to be called the “Skittle”, but they had trademark issues with the name. Originally, it was meant as a female toy – with some pleasure from insertion, but most from clitoral stimulation.

The company claims it got feedback from male users, and that the toy was great for anal use. Therefore, they remarketed it as a unisex massager (including anal use). Reading the store page, they don’t outright state it’s for the prostate, just “anal pleasure.”

I think the vagueness is for two reasons. First, the insertable nub isn’t long enough to reach the p-spot. Second, it’s nowhere near curved enough to stimulate it properly. It MIGHT work for a small percentage of users that way, but I think most would go to bed disappointed.

Don’t get me wrong, it’s a great design from a company I respect. It’s just not a good prostate toy.

NJOY FUN WAND & PFUN PLUG

Njoy is one of my favorite brands – medical grade stainless steel, unbreakable, dead-easy to clean … and pretty.

For the Fun Wand, the single bulb end is mean for p-play, while the three-bulb end is meant to be used as anal beads. So, a 2-in-1 is an added bonus.

And yes, while the NJoy Plug is technically a butt plug, it could be used as a p-toy for some lucky users whose body fits with the design.

Just beware of knockoffs – there are many.

TANTUS PROSTATE HEALTH BUTT PLUG

This Tantus product is different from the others because it’s marketed as an actual medical device – true blue prostate health. Therefore, the design is different, including no base to stimulate your perineum.

The neck might not be tapered, but it is “ribbed” and should do the job. It’s also medical-grade silicone with a removable bullet vibrator. Easy cleaning.

That being said, it can totally be used as a pleasure device. Keep in mind that since it’s not meant for sexual stimulation – there isn’t as much emphasis on the vibrations, with just a simple bullet vibrator that some people complain is a bit on the weak side.

Still, Tantus makes some good products, and I would recommend giving it a go.

RUDE BOY BY ROCKS OFF

Rocks Off has a bunch of different models – Naughty Boy, Naughty Boy Intense, Wild Boy, O-Boy. it was quite hard to pick to be honest. They all look nearly the same – they all have a “C” shape.

There will definitely be slippage with Rude Boy – the entire arm is one inch, with zero tapering and nothing for the sphincter to grab. I can’t see it being something to wear around the house or in any activity where your hands would be occupied. The motor also isn’t that strong.

However, there might be people that like the gentle motor and the defined C-curve. Just make sure you don’t spend a lot of money on it (just in case).

I use Hugo hands-free. Lie on your back, legs out sorta straight, but relaxed and bent slightly at the knees. Your butt being flat on the bed will keep it securely in your piggy hole. Gently rock around on it and you can lie there and orgasm till the battery wears out. Best asshole sex there is.

I do that with the Loki. It’s good.

I use a LELO Hugo and I LOVE the little fucker. Could stand to be a little bigger, but heck, size is not everything. Get clean inside and out, make sure you have plenty of time alone, get smoked up on 420, dim the lights and enjoy. The real low-intensity vibrations work great for me.

I purchased a Lush 2 from lovesense and have been amazed by how powerful my orgasm have been. This little thing is the bomb. Customize the vibrating pattern or use the stock ones in the device.
Caution: use LOTS of lube and I mean LOTS of LUBE. You dont want this little think stuck inside of you

Stay away from the bottom power switch. All you can do is lay on your side. While these are marketed for prostate stimulation they can be used like any other anal stimulation product. You cannot sit with the bump on the bottom. My .02c

An Adam & Eve 3 point messager is an amazing toy. Even though the on/off switch is on the bottom you can still sit on it.
