We can list all the fibs that people have told us, but it\u2019s also worth looking at the reasons WHY people\u2019s noses grow so long.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Let\u2019s start with one of the most common reasons\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:23px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-color has-medium-font-size\" style=\"color:#d70072\"><span style=\"font-size: 26px;\"><strong>CONCEALMENT<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator is-style-wide\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p>I know what you\u2019re thinking \u2013 they lie because they are cheating on someone. And there are plenty of skeezbags out (men and women alike) who mask the truth because they want to conceal their prowling from a partner. But, there are also other reasons that might make equal sense.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>They might have a fake profile so they can catch their partner. They don\u2019t want their friends to know their profile, or they have a life preference they haven\u2019t make public yet. I\u2019m no classifying anything as right or wrong \u2026 just that it exists.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Note: some people hide certain truths to protect themselves from scammers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:23px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-color has-medium-font-size\" style=\"color:#d70072\"><strong><span style=\"font-size: 26px;\">INSECURITY<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator is-style-wide\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p>Many people aren\u2019t confident with their appearance or other details of their lives. Filters and photoshop (and society\u2019s unobtainable beauty standard) has made people\u2019s expectations far too high and their confidence far too low. This can include things like kittenfishing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The best advice? Show all your truths \u2013 100% of them (yes, the full-body shot and no filtered face). I respect people far more when they say they are partnered and just want a sex fling. I might not swipe on them, but I at least respect them as humans.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:23px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-color\" style=\"color:#d70072\"><span style=\"font-size: 26px;\"><strong>SCAMMING<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator is-style-wide\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p>Catfishing \u2013 yuck. And before you beat yourself up for feeling like you would fall for these fake profiles, keep in mind the people doing this are pros. They are aiming for money, good, or free jollies. Just be careful and don&#8217;t give them anything right off the bat (and never give them important stuff at all).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:23px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-color\" style=\"color:#d70072\"><span style=\"font-size: 26px;\"><strong>FUN<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator is-style-wide\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p>Lastly, and one of the hardest to comprehend, is the idea that liars do it because it\u2019s entertaining. They conceal their identities as part of (what they think is) a harmless game.
