But I don\u2019t come at this topic with a \u201cgetting laid is the most important\u201d attitude. What scares most people, isn\u2019t the lack of thunder down under, it\u2019s the fear of disconnection, the feelings of being undesirable, as well as your partner&#8217;s stress. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"background: white;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: baseline;\">It can feel like it will never come back again \u2026 that something is wrong with you.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"background: white;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: baseline;\">But I\u2019m here to tell you that it\u2019s okay! You\u2019re normal. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"background: white;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: baseline;\">Stress sucks the life and energy right out of us \u2013 and all we sometimes have left is the energy to feed and dress ourselves, get to work, etc.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"background: white;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: baseline;\">The following list includes things you can do to help reduce your anxiety levels.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"background: white;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: baseline;\"><strong>NOTE: <\/strong>Tackle these tasks with your CALM in mind \u2026 not what\u2019s between your legs. As a result, your sex drive should come back on its own \u2013 killing two birds with one stone as it were.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"romantic-contact\">ROMANTIC CONTACT<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator is-style-wide\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"background: white;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: baseline;\">If you\u2019re stressed about sex \u2026 then don&#8217;t have it. Take that pressure away. Instead, focus on romantic or intimate acts (with the very clear message that it won\u2019t lead anywhere). Cuddle, kiss, hold hands, stay in each other\u2019s arms, have a glass of wine.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"positive-selftalk\">POSITIVE SELF-TALK<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator is-style-wide\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"background: white;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: baseline;\">Learn to rephrase how you talk about yourself because trash-talking your entire being is just not cool. Little, daily reinforcements like this are very helpful.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li style=\"margin-right: 0cm;\"><span style=\"background: white;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: baseline;\">I\u2019m fat \u2013 I\u2019m beautiful.<\/span><\/span><\/li><li style=\"margin-right: 0cm;\"><span style=\"background: white;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: baseline;\">I\u2019m lazy \u2013 I\u2019m working through things.<\/span><\/span><\/li><li style=\"margin-right: 0cm;\"><span style=\"background: white;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: baseline;\">I just can\u2019t do anything \u2013 I\u2019m going to be patient with this journey.<\/span><\/span><\/li><li style=\"margin-right: 0cm;\"><span style=\"background: white;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: baseline;\">I suck at sex \u2013 I want to explore the world of sex more.<\/span><\/span><\/li><li style=\"margin-right: 0cm;\"><span style=\"background: white;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: baseline;\">I\u2019m not giving my partner sex \u2013 I can focus on my partner\u2019s other needs.<\/span><\/span><\/li><li style=\"margin-right: 0cm;\"><span style=\"background: white;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: baseline;\">I\u2019m so horny but I can\u2019t do anything \u2013 I\u2019m going explore my own body more.<\/span><\/span><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"express-gratitude\">EXPRESS GRATITUDE<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator is-style-wide\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"background: white;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: baseline;\">We might be in horrible situations, but there is always something good in our lives. Start a gratitude journal (book or app) and write down the things that are good each day. It can be anything big or small, sexual or not.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><span style=\"background: white;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: baseline;\">\u201cI shared a romantic kiss with my lover today\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/li><li><span style=\"background: white;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: baseline;\">\u201c<\/span><\/span>We <span style=\"background: white;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: baseline;\">took a 5-minute walk outside today\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/li><li><span style=\"background: white;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: baseline;\">\u201cI have a roof over my head\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"reducing-stress-with-supplements\">REDUCING STRESS WITH SUPPLEMENTS<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator is-style-wide\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"background: white;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: baseline;\">It\u2019s no joke that stress sucks the life out of you. It can also dump a huge amount of natural chemicals in your body that shouldn\u2019t be there for extended periods of time. Make sure you\u2019re getting all your vitamins and minerals through a healthy diet and possibly the addition of supplements.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"keep-a-journal\">KEEP A JOURNAL<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator is-style-wide\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"background: white;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: baseline;\">This isn\u2019t a gratitude journal like before. It\u2019s a sex journal. Write down everything that happens to you in the romance and bedroom department \u2013 big or small. Collect info and see if any patterns emerge. Or, take it to a professional therapist as part of counseling.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"reducing-stress-with-guided-imagery%25c2%25a0\">REDUCING STRESS WITH GUIDED IMAGERY\u00a0<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator is-style-wide\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"background: white;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: baseline;\">It\u2019s like going to your happy place \u2013 imagining a calming environment or journey. It can be done by listening to a recording or using your own process.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"work-with-smells\">WORK WITH SMELLS<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator is-style-wide\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"background: white;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: baseline;\">Aromatherapy can also be a wonderful addition to your calming regime. Look online or get a book on what each oils offer. Some are great for sparking your passion!&nbsp; Keep in mind, however, that all oils are not created equally. Get the pure stuff, not the stuff cut with oils or additives. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"reducing-stress-with-deep-breathing\">REDUCING STRESS WITH DEEP BREATHING<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator is-style-wide\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"background: white;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: baseline;\">If you\u2019ve been in any kind of therapy, you will know this one. It might sound simple, but it really works. Closing your eyes and taking a few deep breaths, focusing only on your breaking, can break out of emotional pits or bad cycles.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"mindfulness\">MINDFULNESS<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator is-style-wide\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"background: white;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: baseline;\">The next step beyond breathing is <i>mindfulness<\/i>. I won\u2019t get too much into it \u2013 it\u2019s a huge topic. Upon first glance, it might seem like meditation, but it\u2019s not. It\u2019s being in the moment and paying attention to what\u2019s happening now, instead of clearing your head and thinking of nothing.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"reducing-stress-with-activity\">REDUCING STRESS WITH ACTIVITY<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator is-style-wide\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"background: white;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: baseline;\">Good old fashioned exercise (of any kind). Pump in some good chemicals to counter those bad ones.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"hang-with-a-pet\">HANG WITH A PET<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator is-style-wide\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"background: white;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: baseline;\">Maybe you need to get away from humans. Don\u2019t underestimate the calming power of a pet. If it\u2019s one that needs to go out on walks, you\u2019re also getting exercise and time to free your mind. Quite powerful.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"spend-time-with-a-friend\">SPEND TIME WITH A FRIEND<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator is-style-wide\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"background: white;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: baseline;\">This one only works if your friend is a good listener and a positive person. You don\u2019t have to spend time with them only to complain about what\u2019s going on in your sex life, rather use the quality time to take your mind off of the stressful stuff.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"address-work-stress\">ADDRESS WORK STRESS<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator is-style-wide\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"background: white;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: baseline;\">If your job is the problem, it might be a bit tricky to reduce things to a manageable stress level. Start with little changes that could make your life easier, talk with someone you trust, ask for help, etc.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"reducing-stress-with-communication\">REDUCING STRESS WITH COMMUNICATION<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator is-style-wide\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"background: white;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: baseline;\">Be sure to talk to your partner(s) about what\u2019s going on and how you feel. Make sure you don&#8217;t play any blame games \u2013 just keep them in the loop. Maybe there is something you can work on together. If nothing else, letting them know what\u2019s going on will help them be more understanding. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"work-on-dont-bandaid\">WORK ON, DON\u2019T BAND-AID<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator is-style-wide\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"background: white;\"><span style=\"vertical-align: baseline;\">Getting to the core of the issue, or at least a plan to address the problems is important.
