FEB 2020 <\/em>– Imagine you plan on going out one day to snaps some photos of whatever your hobby or passion is. The day is sunny, the weather perfect \u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And then you spot some birds playing with a dildo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Yep.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That\u2019s what happened when Jennifer Warner, a conservation photographer, visited the Children\u2019s Pool in La Jolla, California.  The plan was to go to the beach and take pictures of the young seals (the beach is closed for a few months so the animals can give birth safely; despite a back-and-forth between residents\u2019 complaints to keep it open all year and environmentalists wanting it off-limits for nearly half the year).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

However,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The seals aren\u2019t the only ones that like the shore \u2013 since there are no humans, many birds also find it a good place to congregate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

All was going well when Warner noticed a cluster of noisy seagulls fighting over what appeared to be a bit of plastic. Being a conservationist, and working for organizations such as Cheetah Conservation Fund and Shoot’em with a Camera<\/i>, she was understandably angry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But when she zoomed in, she saw it wasn\u2019t just any piece of plastic\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cBefore realizing what the object was, I was annoyed and mad, because plastic pollution is a real serious problem, and as a conservation photographer I\u2019m documenting human impacts on wildlife. But when I realized what it was, while the other emotions still existed, you can\u2019t help but find humor in it,\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/i> Warner told Gizmodo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Despite the annoying (yet funny) image, the photos she took ended up going viral \u2013 and in a way, brought better awareness to the cause.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
