With any BDSM activity, a safe word is a MUST. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

For those of you who are new to the game, a safe word is something the submissive can say to make all play instantly <\/em>stop<\/strong>. It communicates that they are nearing or at their limits, or there is a problem that the Dominant needs to address.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There is no such thing as a BAD safe word.<\/strong><\/span> The only bad thing would be engaging in any BDSM game (light or otherwise) without one – and do not <\/em>listen to those who say you “don’t need one.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A GOOD safe word<\/strong> is something clear<\/em>, easy to remember, and something you wouldn’t normally shout out in the middle of pillow play. <\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

SOME COMMON SAFE WORDS<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Most candidates on the list are no-brainers…<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Stop<\/strong>, No<\/strong>, Safe Word<\/strong>, Safe<\/strong>, and Mercy<\/strong>.<\/span> Even Red<\/strong> <\/span>and Yellow <\/strong><\/span>are understandable because of the traffic light association.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Then we get into the next biggest category \u2013 FRUIT<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Specifically, Pineapple<\/strong>, Banana<\/strong>, Apple<\/strong>, and Orange<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Why are they popular? They are easy to remember, AND they are certainly not a word you would expect to hear, hence their effectiveness in making the top pay attention.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Finally, the odd kids of the family \u2013 Oklahoma <\/strong><\/span>and<\/span> Purple<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

THE REDDIT THEORY:<\/strong><\/span> “Once you’ve hit Oklahoma, you know the good times are over.”<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n
